Al reverso dice: "23761 THE BEATIFUL WATER FRONT OF MAZATLAN. On the west coast of Mexico are five seaports. Of these Mazatlan is the most important, the amount of commerce passing through this ports of Guaymas, Topolobampo, yavaros and San Blas combined. The port of Mazatlan is not a protected natural harbor. It is formed by rocky projections of the foothills wich come down to the sea coast and a half to two miles off shore using lighters or smaller vessels for unloading and loading their cargo. On the left is a part of the harbor and the pier used for these small vessels. Tall graceful coconut palms border the long sweep of sandy beach lending to this harbor a touch of romantic beauty. A large sea wall has been built along the Avenida Ollas Altas or Avenue of Hight Waves, to protect the city from the hight waves that lok peaceful enought now but at times threaten to destroy it. Behind us is the wireless station and straight before us, on the top of that large hill, is the Observatorio and Weather Bureau. On the hill at the right is the lighthouse. This hill is called La Islita del Farol and the lighthouse, called Farol, is the second highest in the world set on natural ground. It is 450 feet hight and flashes an intermittent light sisible at sea for a distance of thirty-five miles. From this lighthouse one can get a good vieww of a new breakwater that is under cosntruction and which when completed, with dredging and other improvement, will make this port one of the finest on the Pacific Coast".
